“Eclectic meets form and function” describes the artistic works of Sharon Mahon.
Sharon considers herself primarily a clay artist although she enjoys all forms of art. She became interested and began doing pottery in 1998 while working for Turner Broadcasting’s World Championship Wrestling as the VP of International Development. As a diversion from work, she took pottery lessons. Then later she became a founding member of Dirt Bag Pottery in Clarkesville, Georgia.
“I have always been passionate about art, design and interiors”, remarks Sharon. “The creation of all forms of pottery – be it functional, decorative or both is a wonderfully creative and expressive outlet for my interests”, she relates. “The inspiration for my work comes from my travels throughout the world, love of design and decorative style”, she adds. Because of this passion close friends and family have jokingly labeled her “Martha Stewart, Jr.”!
