Fat Beagle Pottery was named in honor of Doc's very fat beagle, Sally, who supervised the shop for many years. The shop is owned by Charles (Doc) Tostoe, the potter, his wife, Penny, and their son, Jon.
Starting out as an apprentice in the 70's and opening Fat Beagle Pottery shop in the 80's, Doc continues to grow through constant research and desire to try new techniques.
In over 20 years, he has become an accomplished potter who has exhibited along the east coast from Rochester, NY, to Miami Beach, FL.
Fat Beagle specializes in a lovely assortment of functional stoneware and decorative, one of a kind pieces, gas fired to 2400 degrees for durability and luster.
