Randy and I have been performing together since the day we met in September of 1999. It was right before Y2K, so he didn't have anything to lose in asking me out. While the rest of the world was relieved that life would go on as it always had, New Year's Day marked the end of the world as we knew it. It was love.
In between meeting and getting married in 2003, we wrote lots of songs, made up lots of band names, played lots of shows, and put lots of miles on Randy's little red Ford Festiva (may she rest in peace...). For us, falling in love and creating a musical partnership happened simultaneously, in all sorts of strange and wonderful music venues throughout the southeast and in long conversations in dark cars on the rides back home. I think that this is one reason our music is special.
Our sound is a combination of many different styles--pop, jazz, Americana, reggae, rockabilly, rock-n-roll, and other things, I'm sure. We try to write songs that have strong melodies, interesting music, and lyrics that say the same old thing in a new way. Randy and I both write and sing, and we juggle piano, guitar, bass, accordion, melodica, vibra-slap, tambourine, and circus whistle at any given show.
We love music, and we love making it together. It is our great hope that our music brings something good into the lives of those who hear it. Thank you for taking the time to listen.
